Chesapeake Bay Shocked/Impact Quartz *SUPER RARE*
Truly rare, Shocked/Impact Lodolite quartz from Surry County, Virginia. Sometimes referred to as “garden quartz” these pieces have Amethyst, Citrine, Rose, and Prism Quartz, Papagoite, Ajoite, Nano diamonds, and many other minerals inside them along with some unusual micro organic material and/or organisms. These pieces were ‘shocked’ by meteor impact we believe which causes a change in growth patterns, conductivity and overall anatomy. We are still trying to determine if these pieces were shocked due to Chesapeake bay meteorite or volcanic pressure. These are strong stones with a lot of energy. Different lighting brings out different hues due to the variety of minerals in these specimens. These specimens weigh heavier than normal quartz. This piece weighs 31.3lbs and shows sprays of Papagoite and Ajoite in random areas. the lower half seems to be more normal Quartz while the middle and upper half show extensive signs of impact growth. the top of this point seems to have been at one time three small points and when it was impacted the tops melted and reflowed, looking more like crystal clear bubbles. This one tested for topaz as well, but only a trace.
Size: 10”w x 17”h x 5”d
Note: all of the pieces in this category are final sales (no returns) as they are serious collector pieces.
